Jams, Chutneys and Muesli

We make the jams, jellies, marmalade and chutneys, when the appropriate fruit and vegetables are in season, and we use our own produce wherever possible. The sugar and dried fruit are mostly from fair trade producers. Muesli is made all year round, the grains, nuts and seeds are toasted in the wood fired oven to give it a lovely flavour and crispness. Jam, Jelly and marmalade In January, we made bitter orange marmalade from organic Ave Maria Seville oranges. It has been very popular each year, so we intend to make more as soon as the bitter oranges appear.

Jam, Jelly and Marmalade
This year we have made crab apple jelly, from our own fruit. Unfortunately our crop of plums this year was tiny and the small quantity of fruit was all used in tarts. However our medlar crop looks promising, so fingers crossed for medlar jelly.
Marmalade
We made bitter orange marmalade from organic Ave Maria Seville oranges.
Chutney
This year we have made lots of green tomato chutney.
Wheat free and sugar free muesli
All year round, we toast the oat, barley, and buckwheat flakes in the wood fired oven, the almonds, the linseed, the sesame and the sunflower seeds are all lightly toasted as well.
Grains, Nuts, Seeds and Dried Fruit
Finally the grains, the nuts and the seeds are mixed with the chopped dried fruit, figs, apricots and raisins.
